Freeze a report
Freezing a report allows you to create a static copy that can be shared with individuals who do not have Logicim XLGL.
Before freezing a report, please ensure that you have connected to your Sage 50 company data.
To freeze an entire report, follow these steps:
- Save a copy of the workbook before proceeding, as the freezing operation cannot be undone.
- Ensure that you are connected to your Sage 50 company data.
- Click on the "freeze" button located on the Logicim XLGL ribbon.
- Confirm the operation by clicking "yes".
After freezing the report, the layout definitions and Logicim XLGL functions will be removed. The file will become a static export that cannot be updated. You can safely share this file with individuals who do not have Logicim XLGL.
Note that you can also freeze a single worksheet or a selected range on a worksheet. To do this, follow these additional steps:
- Click on the arrow beside the freeze button.
- Select the desired worksheet or range.
- Open the freeze submenu and click on "freeze selection."
Freezing a selection can be useful to remove automatic layout properties while keeping dynamic formulas intact. This enables manual layout modifications to the report.
For example, if you want to change the order of accounts in an Income statement, you can freeze a selection, unhide the necessary columns, and rearrange the rows as desired. The formulas reporting the amounts will remain dynamic.
Remember to save your changes after making modifications to the frozen report.
